From the Sketchbook Archives: Hopeless

Another sketch from the Sarcoidosis / Prednisone period.  If I receall correctly, I think this was the last of that set of sketches.  This piece encompassed my feelings at that time.

I was lost in a miasma of grief, fear, sorrow, powerlessness and hopelessness.  My life was irrevocably changed and many avenues of action and choice were forever lost to me.  I am still recovering from the events of this time period.

Featured Creature: The Melting Man or Every Time is the First Time

Here we have a face of sorrow and grief swallowed up by darkness.  I've begun playing with the Featured Creatures in Photoshop immediately after scanning them.  The greyscale tones bring such a depth to the creatures I cannot resist.  I am definitely going to continue this process.  Thanks Vincent!

From the Sketchbook Archives: Purple Ghost

This image is similar to a previous piece with the same theme. I've wondered several times if I were picking up on some ghost or ambient presence in the house where I used to live.  Both drawings were done in that space.  There was a definite other sadness to my experience with the drawing of each of these images.  I rarely got anymore information each time I drew other than that strong feeling of sorrow.
