Featured Creature: Devil's Square, Scratch

Excerpt from Liam Hofstadter's report for the Department of Extranormal Phenomena (DEP), Superhuman and Supernatural Threats in the New Millennium:

"Of the super villain quartet known as the Devil's Square, the pygmy creature Scratch is considered the most physically dangerous.  Often seen collared and escorted on a chain by his group, this creature's numerous escapes give clear reason for his restraint.    Despite his small stature, Scratch is lethally violent and has caused hundreds of casualties during his few encounters with humans.

At this time, Scratch's species is unknown.  He was initially considered to be a mutated human, but the few survivors of his attacks tell stories of the cruel and inhuman glee he takes in his violence.  This department has collected detailed histories on all other members of the Devil's Square, but has been unable to find any information on the origin or history of this creature before his time with the Square.  It has been considered that he may be a low ranking Hell demon.  However, no history or demonic seal has as yet been discovered for him.

Although he has shown a resistance to physical harm and advanced healing capabilities, it is this department's recommendation that the creature known as Scratch be shot on sight.  Should firearms be found ineffective, it is this department's strong recommendation that any and all countermeasures be made available to stop this creature before he kills again.  The families of his innumerable victims will thank you."
