"The spirit of malevolence that had attached itself to the structure suffused everything with a suffocating aura ofhopelessness, suffering, and despair."
Here is a second sketch and the final piece of my Golden Age Doctor Fate set. There are several characters from the early stories that I haven't addressed. I may add them to the set later, but for the time being this is the last.

Rotting Appleteeth is a goblin of indulgence and decay. Rotting is quick, selfish, and most certainly dangerous. Legend has it that he used to have a mouth full of bright white teeth, but they decayed and fell out because of his lust for eating sweets and drinking Nog all night. His empty heart is jealous and craves all things, especially the teeth of others. When he sees a beautiful set of polished ivories, out comes his dagger!
Surprisingly, his breath is rather sweet, but that is only a lure to get a victim close enough to cut out a few molars. Although he will not pass up any tooth, he is known to prefer the teeth of children. His nighttime attacks are responsible for the innate fear of dentists that many children possess. He is a mortal enemy of the tooth fairy and the two have warred repeatedly over a single stolen tooth.
If you haven't stopped by yet, here are my designs I've most recently added to my Neatoshop! Some of the images are older posts refitted to be a better tshirt design, but some are all new designs. Drop by and check them all out! Also if there is an image here on Zombie Bites that you would like to see as a tshirt design or made available as a print, send me an email with the link and I'll make it available as soon as possible!
I'm going to take a break from the Devil's Square focus for a bit and pursue some straight up creature sketches. This week we have a more painterly were-creature. I've been so controlled with my compositions lately, I wanted to try something a little more organic and expressive. I also haven't been getting nearly enough practice painting in Photoshop, so I've added that to my to do list. Expect more in this style. This piece also has an element of whimsy in it that surprised me once I'd finished it. The overwhelming darkness of the world lately has been a bit much for me so I don't mind a bit of whimsy here.
One of Doctor Fate's earlier villains, Ian Karkull plagues Doctor Fate and the Golden Age Green Lantern well into the modern age of comics. During their first encounter, it is Doctor Fate that causes Karkull to become trapped in his shadow form.

Here are some delicious golden brains at the end of the rainbow. This was the header for the month of March 2014, celebrating Saint Patty's in the Zombie Bites style!
Today marks the second year of Zombie Bites Featured Creature! Here's a bit of creepiness to celebrate the day! I had a bit more planned for celebration, but my recent computer woes threw a gigantic wrench into the works. We'll see what the rest of the month holds.
The Skin Crawling Comics
website regularly posts pages to the individual
stories of the anthology every Tuesday and Thursday. I'll be doing an
update at least once a month with links to the newest pages. Drop by and check out the latest updates!
My computer issues are on their way to being solved, but it may be a week or two before I'm back up to full speed. I haven't gotten my Adobe suite back up and running yet so Featured Creature and Saturday Sketch will be on hold until I am able to create again. Things may be a little choppy here until I can get things back in order, but I will be back to semi-regular posting.
