SpartCon Post Con Part II: Zombie Bite Con Sketches

In addition to the flyers for SPARTANCON, I decided to create sketches for those who wanted them.  Here are some of the freebie zombie bite sketch business cards I was doing at the con.  I didn't have the time or cash to get printed cards so I figured I would try these to have something to give out.  There are a few missing though.  I didn't think to take photos of them until about 4 or 5 were gone.  I figured these would be a cool way to get the Zombie Bites name out there and to offer a piece of art to go with it.  Enjoy!

From the Archives: Currents of Midnight

Here's a more recent bit of play where I was exploring brush options in Photoshop again.  This piece harkens back to earlier styles.  Not a whole lot going on here other than me playing with some color.  However I feel like I was able to get close to the effects of Prismacolor pencils within the Photoshop program and that in and of itself will be useful later on.

From the Archives: The Marriage

I haven't drawn in this style for some time, but much of my work used to look like this.  After my Drawing II class in college, my drawing style changed dramatically.  I became very aggressive with prismacolor and elements of collage began to integrate with many of my drawings.  It was a very experimental time with media.  I was a smoker at the time and I collaged the gold foil from my cigarette packs into several drawings.

The Current

One of my few Prismacolor pieces on coloured paper stock. This was black.

Language Spirals

The piece changed its face about five times total before settling into this. That's why I do the abstracts...to engage the transformation.

Luna

Years ago, sitting on the front porch of the house I used to live in, the moon utterly mesmerized me. This is one of the few drawings that fully happened in my head before it did on the paper.

Another abstract.

The Monoliths

I had a dream of a place like this. In the dream it was underground.

Jack and His Scythe

Here's an older piece, before I discovered the wonders of Photoshop color. It's still a bit of imagery I am very fond of.
